My Go-To Hair Routine with Dove Hair Care
It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of hair and makeup products. (Clearly.) But the truth is, during the week I just want to use as few products as necessary to achieve a great natural look. I’m a busy momma who works full time and blogs on the side. I don’t have a lot of time for fuss and getting ready Monday through Friday when I’m dropping kids off, driving an hour to work, working, you get the picture! Whatever I can do to get ready quickly and still look presentable for work is a plus!

I’ve always been a fan of both high-end and affordable hair care. But I truly appreciate finding a haircare brand that works great and works on a budget – I definitely don’t want to spend a lot of money on something that I use EVERY day, but quality is important, of course. Luckily I’ve found a great haircare routine with Dove Hair Care that works for me AND my wallet – and has me ready in a flash!
Dove’s line of haircare products fits perfectly into my routine. They’re affordable, they smell amazing, I don’t need a lot of product, and I can conveniently get them at WalMart. Currently I have been using the Dove Thickening Ritual Shampoo & Dove Thickening Ritual Conditioner and Dove Compressed Micro Mist Flexible Hold Hairspray, and these three products are all I need to get my hair in tip top shape and out the door! Here’s my daily routine:
I use the Dove Thickening Ritual Shampoo to not only wash and cleanse, but the thickening formula boosts volume and adds bounce to my hair. My hair has been quite dull the last two years due to my thyroid issues, so this shampoo is just the ticket! The lavender and rosemary blend is seriously divine. I love scents that are light and delicate. I also love how light the formula is and it gives a good lather. Using about a quarter-sized amount of shampoo, I squirt some into my hands and lather, massaging into my hair and concentrating on the scalp only. Then rinse!
Next up is the Dove Thickening Ritual Conditioner. This formula has the same delicate scent and is so rich and nourishing. Some conditioners can weigh your hair down, but this one is light and gentle while getting the job done. I run a nickle-sized dollop through my hair, concentrating on the ends (where my hair is most dry and damaged). I typically leave it on for a couple minutes while I finish my shower and then rinse out.
Finally, after drying my hair, I have to have some sort of finishing product to keep my flyaways at bay! The Dove Compressed Micro Mist Flexible Hold Hairspray is all I need. I don’t ever like to use a lot of styling products, and definitely not for everyday use. This formula is perfect because it gives a lightweight yet flexible hold, so I don’t experience any of the stiffness that some harsh hairsprays can leave.
The fast-drying formula does not weigh my hair down, so the volume from the shampoo and conditioner is still present. Hooray! I hate when products weigh hair down. All my frizzy little flyaways are gone in a few quick spritzes. If I decide on a ponytail, I spritz some of the hairspray on my comb to smooth everything back. Then I spray a touch on the back of my ponytail and gently scrunch. I love how it tames my hair, but still keeps it super soft!
If I keep my hair down, I simply hold the can a good foot away and spray, then gently scrunch and smooth the face-framing pieces with my hands. I also love that the micro mist technology features a non-sticky formula that I can brush out easily. My hair looks shiny after I use it!
Now you know my daily hair routine! Pretty simple with three products, right? I like to keep it simple. I also love how easily accessible the products are. Since Dove products are sold at WalMart, it doesn’t get any more convenient than that! I can snag my products on my lunch break at the WalMart by my work, at the WalMart closest to home on the way back, or if I’m out of town, I know I’ll always have my faves within close reach! So there you have it: My perfect hair care routine is truly as easy as 1, 2, 3: Dove Thickening Ritual Shampoo, Dove Thickening Ritual Conditioner, and Dove Compressed Flexible Hold Hairspray.
