Life as a mom is no joke. We are always on the go. (Can I get an amen, mommas?) It seems like we’re always heading to a birthday party, a baby shower or a holiday celebration! These events are always fun of course, but there’s one part about them that gets me stressed – buying the gift.
The thing is, I LOVE shopping. The problem is, I don’t have time. Most of my gifts gets purchased online because it’s just more convenient. I’m a full-time working mom and I don’t always have time to head over to the store. But even online…how do I find the perfect gift? I like to buy things that are memorable and that stand out. And now I’ve finally found the perfect option with personalized gifts!

What kid doesn’t love books? Even if they aren’t old enough to read, they’ll undoubtedly love the pictures and spending time with mom or dad while they’re being read to. And yes, there are a million books out there, but there’s an easy way to choose one that stands out: Get it personalized! Who doesn’t love a gift with their name on it? Kids absolutely do. Especially if they have an unconventional name that they can’t find on products in stores! That’s why I instantly fell in love with this collection from I See Me! Books.
Disclaimer: I received complimentary books from I See Me! in return for an honest product review. These books looked so adorable online and I was excited to receive one for each of the kids. I already own a few other personalized books from other brands. But when I opened these up, I was blown away by the level of detail that was involved!
So why are these books different from other personalized brands? Well the others simply replaced the character’s name with the personalized name of your choice. That’s pretty great, but the books from this brand went into much greater detail. You should have seen the look on my 5-year-old‘s face when she saw it all! This is the book that we chose for Sydney since she’s all about Princesses:
Not only did this adorable book feature her name, but further details included were her birthstone, her city (or state), her eye and hair color, her favorite color (for the princess dress), her personality traits and more! And her name did not only show up within the context of the story itself, but it also appeared in many of the beautiful photos throughout the book, which she loved!
My daughter asked me how this book knew her so well! How cute is that? She is learning to read and sound out her words, so she got really excited every time she came across her name and wondered what the story would say about her next. I think that’s valuable because it gets her more excited about reading.
As for my son, he is only 15 months old. But he absolutely loves when Mommy and Daddy read to him. He drags books over to us and hands them over! This one is titled, “Ryan’s Very Own Trucks and Things That Go!” He loves how big it is and the pages are so colorful, so he flips through them and stares intently!
He obviously isn’t close to reading yet, but when he gets to that point, this book will be perfect. Each page features a riddle with a new letter that eventually spells out his entire name. It also features one of his favorite things – vehicles of all kinds! He loves anything with wheels. I think it’s going to be great when he starts learning his alphabet and recognizing letters.
Check out the detail on the logo of this truck! Some of the pages feature his name in the most unique places – it’s so adorable and very thought out!
The back of the book also has several pages with a sort of directory that features all types of vehicles listed out on them – how fun is that? I think he’ll love this just as much, if not more when he’s older.
Here he is enjoying his story time with his daddy and jibber-jabbering as Daddy tells the story!
Not only do my kids now have a little personalized treasure for themselves, but I think I’ve found the shopping solution to all of my party problems!
Kids love being read to (especially if they aren’t old enough to read themselves), so I can see them being a hit at any birthday party or holiday. And bringing books to baby showers is quite popular these days – many are doing this instead of bringing diapers to build up baby’s library! So wouldn’t a personalized book be a fun addition if you know the baby’s name? It would be something fun to surprise new parents with after baby’s birth also if you need a gift to bring to the hospital! And let’s not forget about a big brother or big sister gift!
